Philip Walker is an experienced Director, Director of Photography, Cameraman and Creative Director. After ten years of freelancing – producing high quality work on a relatively small scale – Philip realised he could do things far better than the majority of companies that he saw around him. The launch of The Zone UK as a fully-fledged film/video production company means that he and the rest of the team can now offers the very best in filming, directing, producing and post-production.
Toshi Madhar is one of The Zone UK’s primary producers as well as one of the country’s premier talent agents and representatives. Having overcome the considerable challenges of living with Progressive MS to return to work as a PR for actor and producer Wil Johnson and building the Wolverhampton-based Leading Role Agency into a thriving creative business, Toshi is driven, determined and with a eye for talent and stories that need to be told, especially about people who have survived trauma to make new lives for themselves.
Wil Johnson is an English actor and producer whose multi-faceted career to date has encompassed celebrated roles in film, television and theatre.
He may be best known to television audiences as DI Spencer Jordan in the long-running International Emmy Award winning BBC Series Waking the Dead, but as justly loved as that show is, it is merely one string on an increasingly busy bow. Wil has played Othello for the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company, and appeared on the big screen in UK No1 hit films such as Adulthood and Anuvahood. He has starred in numerous roles on television for some of the best writers and directors working in the UK, including the BAFTA Award winning dramas Cracker, Clocking Off and Hidden Treasure (with the late John Thaw), Babyfather, the NTA winning series Waterloo Road and Holby City.
Kenton Hall is an award-winning Canadian actor, writer, director and musician. From his work with the band ‘ist’ through award-winning short films, feature work on both sides of the camera (including the forthcoming “Father to Fall” and Tom Hooper’s “Les Miserables”). Kenton will be leading the development of scripts at The Zone UK, to ensure that every project starts as strongly on the page as it ends up on the screen.
Balbir Madahar is The Zone UK’s resident sound and IT expert. A truly gifted and ambitious engineer and recordist, Balbir continually works to keep up to date with developments in his field, allowing The Zone UK to always offer the best in technology and creativity.
We are happy to announce that Derek Ritchie will be heading up our Music Production services. A talented and experienced producer and musician, Derek has worked closely with Philip Walker on various projects, demonstrating his commitment, drive and imagination time and time again. We know that whatever your music needs, Derek will deliver in exactly the same way for you.
Pauline Williams is a prolific and award-winning film-maker and writer and actor, based in the US. Growing up in Indiana, and graduating from Valparaiso University, she spent a year abroad teaching English as a Second Language in the People’s Republic of China. She has been writing for several years and has had individual works published in a broad cross-section of anthologies.
She was the recipient of the Library of Poetry Editor’s Choice Award Poetry, was Semi-Finalist in the Newcomer category of the Funniest Comedian in Los Angeles contest in 2005, was honoured as an American Association of University Women Eleanor Roosevelt Named Gift Honoree and her screenplay “A Simple Misunderstanding” was quarter-finalist in the Hollywood’s Next Success Screenwriting Contest,
